Lighting Your Scene and Using Materials. For mental ray renderer.

This object is made up of 3 different materials, but the
process is exactly the same.
Assign the respective ID numbers to the polygons and
render.....easy stuff.
Doesn't look too bad either considering it's lit by only one
light.......but that's beside the point.
Again a 'Bump' Map was used for the concentric rings on
the 'cone'.
I'll skip the plastic 'Pegs' as you should have the idea by
now.....hopefully.
So with the materials done lets render the whole thing
and see how it looks.....................Ooooo eerrrrrrrr!
