Tutorial 6.
Lighting Your Scene and Using Materials. For mental ray renderer.
|
Well that's certainly put some light on the matter, a bit harsh but it's lit all the
same.
As an experiment, try changing the 'Environment' Level and see what happens.
So what next? Well before we go any further with lighting it may be a good idea
to get some Materials onto the objects. This will greatly affect the outcome of the
one light we have, so fairly pointless changing any of it's properties just yet.
This does lead us into a bit of a 'catch 22' situation though. The lighting will
have an effect on how the materials will look. Although light does not directly
alter any parameters of materials they may look a little 'washed out' to start with,
but if we know what the material should look like in terms of colour and texture
then at least we can make a start. Unfortunately it is a bit of a 'juggling' act when
it comes to lights and materials as they both affect one another, oh well.
Onto Materials then..........
